This book was born of a double love affair: my encounter with therapeutic hypnosis on the one hand, and with Japanese culture on the other. In this book, I weave an unprecedented bridge between these two worlds, both in my clinical practice, in my personal reflections and in what Japanese philosophy and aesthetics inspire me to do.
I share with you clinical cases from my experience as a hypnotherapist, but also more intimate resonances with notions such as Ma (the interval), kokoro (heart-mind), the way of tea, calligraphy and haiku. All these elements naturally find their place alongside the altered states of consciousness explored in hypnosis.
Each chapter focuses on a particular sensation, a way of relating to oneself, to others and to the world. This book is an invitation to feel, understand and, above all, experience the sensitive links between hypnosis and Japanese culture.
For many readers, this reading is like a treatment, a moment of pause, of inner resonance. I hope it will be the same for you.
